Since its 450cc machine has won quite a few championships recently, it looks like Kawasaki decided that it was good enough for another year. Plus, winning Dirt Rider's MX 450 Shootout the last two years doesn't hurt either. The KX450F retains its air fork and the only changes to speak of are new grips and minor ECU changes. While Kawasaki has had solid performing machine for the last two years in a row, other 450s are getting major revisions and past success doesn't guarantee continued victories. Check out the October issue of Dirt Rider for the full first ride and many other 2014 motocross machines.

first ride: 2014 Beta RR Enduro Machines

As a relatively small European bike manufacturer, Beta has been making major waves in American off-road riding and racing. The Beta 300 RR won Dirt Rider's Bike Of The Year for 2013 as an all-new first time effort in the big-bore two-stroke category. Spring boarding on that success, the Beta Enduro bikes received minimal improvements yet remain potent off-road weapons. One change they did make was a gas tank swap; instead of 2 gallon black tanks, they are now 2.5 gallon clear tanks offering more fuel capacity and easier fuel level monitoring. Dirt Rider Senior Editor Adam Booth hopped the puddle to Italy to ride all of the 2014 Beta RR models. Check out what he thought here and look for the full tests in upcoming issues of Dirt Rider.

Just looking at the Lawson built bike, one has to be impressed by the sheer outside-the-box thinking and ingenuity. But does it really work? Well, we wanted to find out for ourselves and invited the engineering father and son duo of Bill and Marty Lawson to one of DR's testing grounds so we could try their all-wheel-drive KTM 300 XC. The front suspension work is done by a rear shock, and three chains and a U-joint get power to the front wheel. Both Lawsons have engineering degrees and they have made three versions of their all-wheel-drive system, the most refined being the one we tested. Take a look at how the system works as our editors take it for a ride and check out the full story in the September issue of Dirt Rider, hitting newsstands July 23.

http://www.dirtrider.com/features/foggy-mountain-enduro-photo-gallery/The Rekluse AMA National Enduro Series marches on with FMF/KTM Charlie Mullins taking his sixth win of the year at the Foggy Mountain Enduro in Blain, Pennsylvania. Hot on Mullins' heels was eight-time champion Mike Lafferty. The factory Husaberg rider switched to a 250cc two-stoke after competing most of the year on a four-stroke. Check out the root-chewing, grass-roosting enduro bikes as they slice through the fields and forests of the Keystone state.
